You bought a PS5. You love The Witcher 3. Now you’re staring at your shelf wondering: does it even run right on this thing?
I played the PS5 version from day one. I reinstalled it three times just to test every option. I watched frame drops.
I timed load screens. I compared it side by side with my old PS4 Pro copy.
Some sites say it’s “enhanced.” Others call it “a mess.” Neither is true.
It’s not perfect. But it’s way better than most people think.
You want to know if Witcher 3 for Ps5 Excnconsoles is worth your time. You want the straight answer (not) hype, not fearmongering.
Is it smooth? Yes, mostly. Does it load faster?
Absolutely. Do you need the next-gen update? Yes.
And I’ll tell you exactly how to get it.
No fluff. No jargon. Just what works, what doesn’t, and how to make it run like it should.
This guide cuts through the noise. It tells you which version to buy, how to patch it, what settings actually matter, and where the game still stumbles.
You’ll walk away knowing exactly what to expect. Before you waste an hour on the wrong download.
Witcher 3 on PS5: Same Game, Better Gear
The Witcher 3 for Ps5 Excnconsoles is not a new game. It’s the same story. Same choices.
Same monster hunts.
It’s a next-gen update. A complete edition. Not a remake.
If you own the PS4 version? The upgrade is free. No catch.
Just go to your library and download it.
I did. Took five minutes. No credit card.
No hoops.
What’s new? Faster load times. Much faster.
Textures pop. Hair moves. Shadows don’t look like cardboard anymore.
You get ray-traced reflections in Blood and Wine’s vineyards. (They’re pretty. But not that important.)
Performance mode hits 60fps. Fidelity mode locks 30fps with better visuals. You pick.
I prefer performance.
New players should buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Complete Edition. It includes the base game, both expansions, all free DLC, and the PS5 upgrades built-in.
No need to hunt down separate purchases. No confusion.
Does it run better than PS4? Yes.
Is it worth playing again? Only if you want sharper visuals or smoother combat.
You already know the ending. But Geralt still walks like he’s carrying the weight of the world. That part didn’t change.
PS5 Witcher 3: Pick One Mode and Stick With It
I played both graphics modes. Performance Mode runs at 60 FPS with a changing resolution. It feels smooth.
It moves.
Ray Tracing Mode drops to 30 FPS but adds ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion. (That means light bounces more realistically off walls and objects. Shadows actually have soft edges.)
You want realism? Go Ray Tracing. You want responsiveness?
Performance Mode wins every time.
Higher-res textures pop on the PS5. Foliage density is thicker (no) more patchy forests. Loading times vanish.
That fast SSD cuts travel time from White Orchard to Novigrad down to seconds.
Camera options got smarter. I use the closer over-the-shoulder view now. It pulls Geralt in just enough.
Less screen clutter. More immersion.
Quick-cast signs are game-changing. No more pausing to pick a sign. Just flick the stick and whoosh.
Map filters help too (toggle) quest markers or hide loot icons. Less noise. More focus.
Community mods are baked in. Not as wild as PC, but real quality-of-life fixes like UI tweaks and lighting upgrades. They feel native.
DualSense support works. Haptics thump when Geralt walks on gravel. Adaptive triggers tighten when drawing the crossbow.
It’s subtle. But it’s there.
Witcher 3 for Ps5 Excnconsoles isn’t just remastered. It’s rethought.
Don’t toggle between modes mid-playthrough. Pick one. Live with it.
See which version sticks with you after ten hours.
Which mode did you pick first?
Move Your PS4 Saves to PS5 (Yes,) It Works

I kept my Witcher 3 for Ps5 Excnconsoles save from PS4. No, I didn’t start over. Yes, it worked.
You need PlayStation Plus for cloud saves (or) a USB drive if you don’t subscribe. I used cloud. It took two minutes.
First, update your PS4 game fully. I skipped this once. The save uploaded but wouldn’t load on PS5.
Frustrating. Update the game before uploading. Not after.
Not during. Before.
On PS4: Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Upload to Online Storage. Pick your save. Hit upload.
On PS5: Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS4) > Cloud Storage > Download to Console Storage.
USB method? Same menu path (but) choose “USB Drive” instead of cloud. Format it as exFAT first.
(PS5 won’t read NTFS.)
Some games block transfers. Witcher 3 lets you move progress. But not all DLC carries over cleanly. Check patch notes.
If your save fails, delete the PS5 version’s local save first. Then retry.
Stuck? I wrote about edge cases like this in the Java assignment excnconsoles guide. You’re not doing anything wrong.
Sony just hides the fix behind three menus.
Is The Witcher 3 on PS5 Worth Playing (Again)?
Yes. It is.
I played it on PS4 first. Felt like I was squinting through fog half the time. The PS5 version fixes that.
Textures pop. Light bounces right. Trees don’t shimmer and vanish when you turn your head.
(That used to happen. A lot.)
Performance stays locked at 60fps. No more stuttering during horseback chases or crowded city scenes.
The fast travel menu loads in under a second. Inventory sorting? Done.
Map markers? Actually useful now.
If you own the PS4 version, the upgrade is free. Zero dollars. You just download it.
That makes it stupidly easy to jump back in (or) finally start if you skipped it before.
The world feels bigger. Not because it’s larger, but because you see it. Every rain-slicked cobblestone.
Every scar on Geralt’s face.
This isn’t just polish. It’s presence.
You feel like you’re in Velen, not watching it from behind glass.
Witcher 3 for Ps5 Excnconsoles gives you that clarity without asking for more money.
