They open doors. Lumbridge Swamp teleports. Barbarian Assault.
The Mage Arena. All locked until you talk to some guy who asks about his lost cat.
Quest rewards? Gear. Keys.
Shop access. Things you can’t buy. Because trading is banned.
You know this. You’re reading this. You’re probably sweating over your first 100 HP.
The Most Important Quest on Osrs Hmcosrs? That’s not one quest. It’s the first five you pick.
The ones that get you gear, teleports, and safety.
I once ran across Edgeville without teleport. Got ganked by level 120s. Twice.

You want safe travel? Do Cook’s Assistant. Get the Lumby teleport.
Done in 90 seconds.
You want better weapons? Do Dragon Slayer I. Yes, it’s long.
But that rune sword lasts forever.

Waterfall Quest Is Non-Negotiable
I did this quest at level 3 Attack. No combat. No gear check.
Just walk, talk, and jump.
It gives you 13,750 Attack and Strength XP. That’s not a typo. Thirteen thousand seven hundred fifty.
You go from “can’t hit a goblin” to “oh wow I just killed a hill giant” in one afternoon.
The requirements? A rope, a hammer, and a chisel. You probably already have them.
(If you don’t, go kill a few goblins (they) drop hammers.)
Bring a Games Necklace. You’ll thank me when you’re stuck behind a waterfall with no clue how to get back out. Use a guide.
Seriously. One wrong click and you’re swimming upstream for ten minutes.
This is the Most Important Quest on Osrs Hmcosrs. Not debatable. Not situational.
Just true.
After it, you train faster. You fight stronger monsters. You stop wasting time on weak slayer tasks.
I skipped it once. Wasted three hours trying to solo moss giants with 8 Strength. Don’t be me.
You want to move fast? Do Waterfall Quest first. Then ask questions.
Grand Tree & Tree Gnome Village: Your First Real Breakthrough

The Grand Tree quest is the Most Important Quest on Osrs Hmcosrs.
I did it early (and) never looked back.
It gives 18,250 Attack XP (yes, that’s a lot for level 1. 30).
You also get access to the Grand Tree itself (a) safe, central hub with teleport options and banking.
That hub unlocks the Gnome Stronghold. Which means better training spots. Faster quest starts.
Less running through dangerous zones.
Then comes Tree Gnome Village.
It’s not flashy (but) it hands you 12,400 Attack XP and, more importantly, access to the Spirit Tree network.
Now you’ve got two major teleport hubs.
Grand Tree + Spirit Trees = instant travel across the map.
HCIMs don’t die walking to Barbarian Assault anymore.
You just click and go.

Fairytale Part 1 & Druidic Ritual: Your First Real Power-Ups
Fairytale Part 1 is the Most Important Quest on Osrs Hmcosrs. It’s not flashy. It’s not long.
But it unlocks Fairy Rings.
Fairy Rings let you teleport across Gielinor instantly. No more walking. No more dying to wilderness monsters.
HCIM runs get safer and faster. Immediately.
You start it at level 31 Magic and 33 Agility. Talk to Fairy Godfather in Zanaris. That’s it.
No grinding. No gear checks.
Druidic Ritual is just as key. It unlocks Herblore. Without it, you can’t make super restores, antipoisons, or stamina potions.
Those potions keep you alive in dangerous areas. They let you skip banking during slayer tasks. They save hours every week.
Both quests take under an hour total. Yet they shape your entire HCIM experience. You’ll use Fairy Rings and Herblore daily for months.
Think about your last failed HCIM trip. Was it because you ran out of food? Got lost?
Died to a stray attack? These two quests fix all of that.
They’re not optional upgrades. They’re baseline tools. Like having a map instead of wandering blind.
